Task Settings

Lesson 39• Nov 19, 2024

Hello and welcome. In this lesson, we’ll be discussing on how to use task settings for your app. Let’s get started.

Task Settings is a new feature that optimizes task usage for your app's project management and makes it easier for staff to receive notifications about tasks assigned to them. Before this feature was introduced, there were no options to notify staff members about their tasks. Staff had to navigate to the Platfio Manager, click on "Tasks," and manually check their assignments.

To access Task Settings, go to the Platfio Editor, click on "Settings," and then select "Tasks." Here, you can configure notifications to inform staff about their tasks and create templates to to easily add new tasks for your team.

To add a notification, click on the plus button and set the time when staff should be notified. Select the timezone, which is especially useful for staff working in different countries or time zones.

Then, choose the notification type, such as push, email, or SMS, to determine how staff will be informed. Once everything is set, add the notification and save it. You can also create templates for recurring tasks assigned to staff members. Click on "Templates" and add a new one. For example, to create a follow-up task template, name it "Follow-Up Customer" and add a description if needed. Set the priority by clicking on the flags, where gray indicates the lowest priority and red represents the highest priority.

Then sent the due days from when the task is due after assigning it, let’s say it will be due in seven days.

You can also add subtasks, such as scheduling a follow-up with the customer after seven more days. Once the template is ready, add it and save. With a default template set for a staff member, we can go to the Platfio Manager, select "Users," and choose the relevant staff member. Navigate to "Tasks," and add a task. All default templates will appear as clickable chips under the staff member's name, automatically filling in task details based on the saved template.
