Marketing (SMS)

[Intro] In this lesson, we’ll be discussing Marketing for your app. In particular, with SMS. Let’s get started.

Your app can also send SMS messages as part of your marketing strategy. To do this, the first thing we have to do is go to twilio.com, and create an account. (if you do not have one already)

Once you have an account, you can purchase a phone number, and add some credit to your account, then, copy your account SID, and your account Auth token.

[Editor] Then go to Platfio Editor, Integrations, then click on Twilio. Paste the account SID, and the account Auth token, Then add the sender number. You can then also put a message prefix and a message appended link.

Then what we can do next is click on the test button to check if our SMS integration is working.

[Manager] Once done, go back to the Platfio Manager, click on marketing, then SMS. Create the Title, and the body for the SMS.

SMS doesn’t support adding an image. But we can select a link to include in our SMS to bring users directly back to our app.

For the audience, you can select which users you want to be the target of the SMS. For now, let’s select all users.

We can also choose to send the SMS immediately, or we can schedule the SMS to be sent at a future time.

Once you're done setting it up, click on the plus icon to add the SMS and finalize it.

It will take you back to the SMS Messages Manager, where you can check if the SMS you created is sent immediately or scheduled.
