[Intro] In this lesson, we’ll be discussing the Point of Sale System. Let’s get started!

[Editor/Manager] The Point of Sale System allows you to do things on behalf of your customers.

For example, if an elderly customer isn’t yet ready to get started on the app, we can complete purchases, bookings, subscriptions, and form submissions on their behalf until they’re confident using the app themselves.

To access the Point of Sale system, go to the Platfio Manager, then click P.O.S. You’ll notice that the Point of Sale system works in three steps.

The first step is to add the products, bookings, subscriptions, and form submissions that you would like to complete on behalf of the user to a transaction.

Step two is to select the user and set up additional details about the user to complete the transaction.

And finally, Step three is to review and submit the transaction. Let’s go through a couple of examples.

In step one, let's add a product. Click on Products, choose any product you want, you can set the amount, and then click Add to transaction. You can also choose to add more products after if you want.

Now, let’s go to Step two and search our user. If this product has value, we can select how the user pays. We can charge one of their existing cards on their account or add a new card to their account.

In this case, let’s choose this card. Then, if the transaction requires shipping, we can select the shipping method and select or add the shipping address of the user.

If we would like to segment the user as part of this transaction manually, we can do that here.

If we would like to add a note to the transaction, we can do that here. Then, we can designate if the note should be placed into the user manager or the actual order or booking.

Next, we can automatically schedule a task after this transaction. For example, if we want a task to occur at the end of September to follow up this transaction, we can go ahead and schedule that here.

For the final step, we can review the transaction and once everything is good, press Submit.

Let’s do another transaction just to learn more about how the system works.

[Manager] Let’s go back to the P.O.S. in the Manager and for step one, let’s schedule a booking. Once you’ve chosen a booking, add it to the transaction.

Next, let’s search and select the user, select how they’re going to pay, and then we can proceed to checkout by going to Step 3. You’ll see that fees have been automatically added based on the checkout settings in this app.

You’ll notice that there’s a toggle asking if we want to go directly to the user when we submit. Let’s turn that on and press submit. Then, as you see, we’re taken to the user.

Let’s go back to the P.O.S. and add a subscription to the transaction. Then, let’s search and select the user, select a card, and finally, review and submit the transaction.

Next, let’s check how to submit a form on behalf of a user. In the P.O.S., select the form. Then, answer the necessary fields in the form and once you’re done, add it to the transaction. Next, let’s search and select the user. In this case, we don’t need to select a payment method. Finally, go to step three, to review and submit.
