Submittable Forms

[Intro] In this lesson we’ll be discussing setting up submittable forms for your app. Let’s get started…

[Editor] To access the forms section, click on the Platfio editor, then click Forms. You will be directed to the Forms Collection Editor page where you can manage and organize all the forms for your app.

To add a new collection. Click on the plus button to access the form collection editor. Let's name it “Submittable”, then press Save.

Once you’ve created a collection, let’s add a new form. Click on the plus button at the top right. This will open the Form Editor.

Let’s say we want to create an Induction form for new users. Under the details tab, click the Name section and enter the name “Induction”. Then, click the dropdown button in the Type section. And choose Submittable.

Next, let’s go to the Fields tab.

For the first field.. Let’s add “Name”, then choose Text in the Type section, and press Save..

Let’s add another one.. Let’s name this “Age”, then choose Number in the Type section.

For the next field.. Let’s name this “Injuries”, then choose Extended text in the type section.

Let’s add another one. Let’s name this “Progress Pic”, then choose Image in the type section.

Next one.. Let’s add “Bill”, then choose File in the type section.

For the next field.. Let’s name this “Satisfaction” then choose Range in the type section. Set a default value of five.. and we can add in the configurations.. with a minimum of zero… And a maximum of ten... Then add in Step, with a value of one.

Next add another field... Let’s name this “Home”, then choose Location in the Type section.

For the next field.. Let’s call this “Gender”, then choose Single Select in the type section... Then we can add in our configurations. Choose options, and we can say Male. Female. Other. Then press on Save.

Let's add another field. This time, let's call it “Interests”, then choose Multiple select in the type section. Let’s add in the configurations. Choose options, and we can add in Sports, Anime, and Gaming. Then press on Save.

Add another field, let’s name it “Date of Birth”, then choose Date in the type section.

For the Next field, let's name it “Accept”, then choose Toggle in the type section.

And for our last field, let’s name this “Accept Terms”, then choose Signature in the type section.

Now that we have our Form created, we’ll add it to the navigation. Press the helper at the lower right corner and click on the Windows icon. You can then choose where to add the Form. This time we will add it to the Left-Hand Side Menu.

[Emulator] Next, let's test the form from the user's perspective, using the emulator. Open the Left-Hand side menu. We will see that the form we have added is available. Click on the form. We can then add the information needed in the form. (Answer form).

Once finished, let’s go ahead and submit it.
